The pelham cheekpiece combines the action of a snaffle and a bar and loose ring The bit has one jaw piece but can be ridden with one or two reins. If you choose to ride with one rein, a pelham strap is needed to connect the bit rings to the rings of the scissors. The pelham is a leveraged mouthpiece. The longer the scissors, the sharper the effect. The baby pelham has short bars and therefore has a milder effect than the normal pelham. A pelham bit is mainly used for strong horses, horses with too little space in the mouth for two mouthpieces or horses that have to get used to a bar and snaffle. This bit is not suitable for the inexperienced rider.
The Inno Sense Jointed combines the trusted design of a traditional jointed bit with the advanced, softer Inno Sense material. The single-jointed design applies pressure to the bars and sides of the tongue, giving more freedom to the tongue and encouraging the horse to engage with the bit while maintaining precise control. The key benefit of the Inno Sense Jointed Bit is its enhanced comfort. The softer material reduces discomfort and promotes better acceptance of the bit, especially in horses that are prone to resistance or overreaction with stronger bits.
Bits from the Inno Sense Jointed collection can be used for all horses, but are particularly suitable for young horses and horses with a sensitive mouth. The plastic used is FDA approved, which means that the material is non-toxic and does not contain plasticizers. Horses that are ridden on an Inno Sense Jointed mouthpiece follow the hand easily and accept the bit quickly.
