The Freejump Plume Women's Airbag Vest represents a new generation of airbag protection for riders. Thanks to its innovative seamless construction without a traditional internal air bladder, the Plume is exceptionally lightweight, slim and comfortable. This innovation was awarded the prestigious SPOGA Innovation Award 2026.

The Plume is at least 25% lighter than a traditional airbag vest. Instead of a separate internal air bladder, Freejump uses an innovative multi-layer textile construction assembled using ultrasonic welding technology. The result is an exceptionally slim and breathable airbag vest that offers maximum freedom of movement and outstanding comfort while riding.

When activated, the Plume provides protection for key areas of the body, including the thorax and vital organs, neck, spine and lumbar region. The inflatable collar provides additional cervical protection when used in combination with a certified riding helmet. In size M, the vest reaches full inflation in just 90 milliseconds and complies with the NF S72-800-2022 safety standard.

This version has been specifically designed for women. The ergonomic women's cut provides a precise fit around the body, supporting both comfort and the optimal positioning of the protective areas. The adjustable strap system allows the fit to be further tailored to the rider.

The Freejump Plume is entirely designed and manufactured in Freejump's workshops in Bordeaux and is 100% Made in France. The textile used is also manufactured in France. Every airbag vest is individually tested before leaving the factory.

Wearing the Plume under a competition jacket

The Plume can also be worn underneath a suitable competition jacket. The vest is compatible with jackets from more than 20 equestrian brands that are certified for use with an airbag vest according to the NF S72-800-2022 standard. Always check that the specific competition jacket is suitable and certified for use in combination with an airbag vest.

Care and washing

For regular care, Freejump recommends the Effol/Effax HEY Airbag Cleaner to remove dirt and eliminate unwanted odours. The Plume can also be machine washed using the special Freejump Washing Kit, which includes a dedicated laundry bag and a plug for the gas generator. Use a delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C and always carefully follow Freejump's maintenance instructions.

Freejump recommends a maximum of 10 machine washes during the lifetime of the vest. For machine washing, Freejump recommends Effol/Effax HEY TEX WASH, which has been tested and approved by Freejump's engineers.

Service and warranty

Freejump recommends a service overhaul of the Plume in any of the following situations: after 3 years of use, after 20 inflations or following a significant fall. During this service, the correct functioning of the vest is checked to help ensure an optimal level of safety.

During the first 12 months following the date of purchase, Freejump offers this service overhaul free of charge. After this period, the service overhaul can be carried out by Freejump for a fee.

The Plume comes with a standard 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. When the owner registers the purchase of the vest with Freejump, Freejump extends this product warranty from 2 to 4 years, where applicable under local legislation.
